FRUA's 2007 Conference

Mark your calendars now for FRUA's 4th Ann ual
Conference, Focus on Education and Development:
Equipping our Children for Success. The conference
is scheduled for April 26-28, 2007, in Redmond,
WA, a suburb of Seattle. Take advantage of this
opportunity to interact with medical
professionals, therapists, teachers, adoption
professionals, and other parents to learn more
about a range of issues affecting adoptees, from
attachment to language issues to dealing with your
child's school.
Parents and professionals will be able to hear
such nationally recognized speakers as attachment
expert Deborah Gray, FAS/FASD experts Julia
Bledsoe and Julian Davies, and trauma expert Dave
Ziegler, plus many other experienced,
compassionate presenters with down-to-earth
insights on helping children reach their
potential. You'll enjoy the comforts of a
brand-new conference facility in a setting with
easy access to restaurants, shops, and

Wednesday March 7, 2007- Homestudy Dossier Class for
CHI families only.
6:00- 8:00 PM at our Bellevue
office. This class is mandatory for all CHI families
in the Puget Sound area.
The next Wednesday meeting will be
March 21, 2007 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Bellevue
Public Library, 1111-110th Ave NE

Classes and Dates:
Ongoing
Infant CPR Classes:
Covers safety, infant and child
CPR techniques, and how to relieve an obstructed
airway. Participants receive an American Heart
Association (AHA) Pediatric Basic Life Support
certificate. This class offered in collaboration
with Children's Hospital.
Babysafe:
This
class developed and taught in conjunction with
Childrens Hospital and Regional Medical Center,
covers infant development, baby safety, injury
prevention, and care of common injuries. Infant CPR
is demonstrated and practiced.
Adoptive
Baby Care:
Learn all the
basics of how to care for an adopted baby, up to
about one year of age. We discuss feeding, bathing,
diapering, dressing, playing, and developmental
milestones. Addresses issues unique to the care of
adopted babies.
Vaccinations:
A Naturopathic Introduction:
Choosing how, and whether, to vaccinate your child
is one of the difficult decisions facing new
parents. This class will include a thorough
introduction from a naturopathic perspective
SIGNING WITH YOUR
BABY:
American Sign Language classes
for hearing parents and their hearing
babie
