Comments from Families Regarding their Adoption Experience

Every so often I think that I need to encourage
everyone on this list that is in the process of adopting through Children's
Hope. We have done it twice now. Once in 2001 and again in 2003. Our
first daughter came to us through the regular adoption program of submitting
our dossier and waiting 11 months for our referral. What a glorious day that was!
Our second daughter came to us from the Waiting Kids listing. She came home
last February.
Our girls are now 3 1/2 and almost 6.
I just feel led to tell everyone again that I PROMISE you that CHI will take
care of EVERY DETAIL of your adoption experience, from preparing your
dossier, to each and every paper that must be filled out correctly in China,
and everything in between.
Both of our adoptions were flawless. CHI takes care of their families
better than any agency I've read about on all the internet YAHOO groups I'm
on.
When in China, the CHI China team will see to it that you get to each
appointment on time, with the correct paperwork filled out in the manner
needed. NO NEED TO WORRY.
Just think about your child, take care of your health and leave the driving
to the CHI team. I have never met a more dedicated, hard working staff. I've
personally met several of them and each is warm, and caring and really
working to bring the children home to their parents.
You have chosen wisely when you sent your application to CHI. Just from my
experience, let me encourage you to NOT WORRY!
And no, I'm not employed by CHI. They have just made me a very happy mom
twice. And they will help you too.

We had a wonderful experience in China. I have to admit there were
times of frustration waiting for our child and during the paperwork process.
Everyone said, “It will be worth it” but you still feel like it will never
happen. We can’t believe when it finally came and we were handed our
child how wonderful it really was! My parents 50th wedding
anniversary was going to be while we were away. Everyone worked very
hard to move our trip so our child could meet her grandparents at the party.
It was wonderful. While we were in China, we had no worries. It
was a pleasurable experience. Our child is a delight. We love
her more every day!

I absolutely love CHI. When we were in China, we talked with many
couples from other agencies and there were some horror stories with not
knowing about the re-fingerprinting because the agency didn’t let them know
and a couple had to stay 2 extra weeks – groups of 22 couples and it was
totally unorganized. I really loved everything especially Nancy and
Helen. Our group was so wonderful and we all got along wonderfully!

in Shanghai. She helped us through the paperwork very professionally and
was flexible on the rest of our arrangements. Her knowledge of the process
as well as local knowledge of Shanghai made that part of the trip very

Our coordinator, Wendy Wu, was great. She handled herself professionally while dealing with the difficulty of helping a five year old and a six year old understand what was happening. She always was available if needed and always had a great knowledge of the entire adoption process in China. I cannot begin to write the praise that Wendy deserves, you should be honored and proud to have her as part of your staff representing CHI.
We were very fortunate to have had the
pleasure to work with Peggy and Wendy both during our first adoption in
China. They were and still remain a godsend. They make everything feel
natural and easy. It was like traveling with your own family. My husband
and I both love CHI from the bottom of our hearts.

I know that CHI doesn’t have any control over this – BUT it would be nice if they had chairs and/or couches in the room where we “get” the babies. We stood for over 2 hours. I don’t know if suggestions are welcome to the Chinese CCAA, but it would have made the setting more “homey”. (This was in Nanning).
We enjoyed working with CHI and would
recommend it to others.

We left China with an even better perception than we did on our first trip – and we thought that trip was so excellent too.
CHI is by far the best agency. We met people who didn’t know what to do at the Guangzhou airport and they were asking us because CHI had everything so well organized and explained for us. people at CHI worked very hard to make a bad situation work out. We would
recommend CHI to anyone in a heartbeat because we know first hand that you

The entire adoption from the time we started to the very end was a very positive experience. WE had a lot of concerns about the two weeks in China, from drinking the water to the flights, and all the little details in between. I can honestly say I did not run into a single problem that a coordinator didn’t assist us with. The whole process was wonderful. I have recommended CHI to several people since returning home. If I had the finances, I would go again with CHI and bring home another child!!

Our experience with Children’s Hope was wonderful from beginning to end. The paperwork was easy to do – the guides were wonderful – there were no surprises – everything was covered in your information packets – your websites were great as well. The most difficult part was the waiting! But once we received our call, we were so well-prepared it was a piece of cake! We found our trip to Moscow absolutely incredible – like you say, the journey of a lifetime. Everyone always ask us how difficult was it to adopt Mariska and we always respond, “It really was pretty easy” – Thanks to all of you @ CHI!!
