THE
SULHOFF FAMILY,
CLEVELAND, GA |

To those of you who do
not know, Staci and I have been pursuing adoption for about three years.
We settled on Colombia, because of our personal ties there from summer
camp in the eighties and the country’s adoption-friendly procedures and
infrastructure. We applied for a single, healthy little girl between the
ages of newborn and three, but we firmly stated that if they were to find
such a person and she had a sibling who was younger than our natural-born
son, then we would welcome them both to avoid separating them. We got The
Call at home at about 7 P.M. on Friday, June 6th, 2003. There was a little
three-year-old girl, Angie and her big brother, Giovani. Giovani will turn
six in July. They needed a home. We had one. To read the rest of the
story, please click

Due to
the quota system for
China
adoptions, single parents can make up only 8% of adoptions. As a result,
the waiting list through CHI has gotten lengthy, with waits of 2-3 years.
We have decided to stop taking applicants at this time, and reevaluate the
wait in approximately 6 months. We are sorry for any inconvenience this
may cause.
We
continue to accept applications from singles to adopt from: Russia,
India, Colombia, and Vietnam (when they reopen)! For more information
about any of these programs, please contact

A MESSAGE FROM BRENDA BARKER |
|
|
|
We have had
a wonderful month with our Operation Hope kids here! We hate to see them
go back to Russia….we will not have a dry tear! But, all 10 will return,
and actually one more will join them (a younger sibling, who was too young
to come!) as they join their forever families in the next few months!
All of the
countries are busy, busy, busy, as you can tell from the stories we have
featured this month! There is no better time than to start making your
dreams of adoption a reality….and we would love to help you however we
can!
We don't want to
burden you with a lot of information, but we do want to help you if you
are looking for a way to adopt. If not, please let us know and we will
regretfully remove your name from our newsletter. E-mail me at my
address below with any question you have.
I would love
to hear from you.
