Children's Hope International is seeking a Director for our office in Portland, Oregon area, to work closely with the many families contacting CHI regarding international adoption, as well as be of service to CHI adoptive families in the northwest.  The person we are seeking must have a love for children and find fulfillment in working with others to help them find loving homes.  They must desire to work in harmony with the Christian mission and principles of the agency. 

POSITION AVAILABLE:   Office Director  (Full-time)

LOCATION:  Children's Hope International adoption and humanitarian aid agency office located in Portland, Oregon.

SALARY RANGE:   $40,000 - $45,000 annual, with medical insurance,  employer matched savings and 401(k) plus good vacation / leave time plan.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OFFICE DIRECTOR

1.     Must have dynamic skills and infectious enthusiasm to communicate with prospective families and create an impact for adoption awareness throughout the region served by our office. 

2.     Be thorough and complete in dealing with all issues and problems.

3.     Begins tasks on own initiative and completes them quickly.

4.     Must have organizational and staff management skills - able to handle details

5.     Good communication skills - in writing, talking on the telephone and in person.

6.     A heart for children and a driving passion to find homes for them.

7.     Must be a dedicated Christian and in agreement with the CHI statement of faith.

8.     Adoption experience preferred.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Give leadership and direction to all phases of adoption and humanitarian aid. 

2.    Create adoption awareness and bring families into application through conducting information meetings, community projects and public relations in the area.  This responsibility will be of high priority.

4.    Follow-up on adoption inquiries from the web by enlisting and assisting them in the adoption process.

5.    Talk with families on the telephone regarding adoption options and process as well as post-adoption services.

REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred:
Master's of Social Work from an accredited school of social work and three years' work in social work administration or related.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:  Must be dynamically energized to give leadership and work in close cooperation with others.    Must have good telephone and people skills as well as basic computer skills.  Must have a solid Christian faith, with a  desire to help children find homes, health and hope through the efforts of Children's Hope International.

Must be responsible and detail oriented. Must be flexible, self-motivated, and goal/deadline oriented.  Must be a hard worker, willing to sacrifice for others and dedicate oneself unselfishly for a large cause.  Heart and passion required.
