Orphanage Visit -
The schedule and activities at your orphanage will
depend
on the director and staff.
Before you visit your
China
orphanage, you will explore the capital city of your
orphanage province. This is most likely
the location
where you first met your son or daughter. You will
be able to share your feelings at your initial visit
as you and your child retrace your first steps
together. You will strengthen family bonds as your child walks with you over the paths of your
adoption journey.
You will be escorted to
your orphanage where you will greet the current
director and staff. You will visit the place where
your child waited to join your family. Perhaps you
will be greeted by some of your child's original
caregiv
ers.
If you ask ahead of
time, you might have access to your child's original
documents. You will meet some of the current staff
and see the facilities where your child spent her
earliest days. You will see some of the children at
play and visit the nursery where other children now
wait for their forever families. You will have lunch
with the orphanage staff and learn about changes and
improvements at the orphanage since your child
waited for you.
