In our work with orphans worldwide, we are shocked at how fast their number is growing: since 1991 there are an additional 5 MILLION orphans in the world. Right now, 143 MILLION children are living without adequate parental care.

We cannot find adoptive homes for every child, but there is another way to help: sponsor an orphan through this website, and YOU CAN bring hope and love back into the heart of a child who has lost both with our Child sponsorship / Orphan sponsorship program.

The world's neediest children are now cared for, fed, schooled, receive medical help and hope, according to their individual needs.

Donors give $32 a month to sponsor a child-focused project or sponsor an orphan from China, or Russia, Kazakhstan, India, Vietnam, Colombia, Guatemala and Ethiopia.

They are encouraged to invite others to become a donor.

They are encouraged to contact their child by email or letters.

They are encouraged to pray for their child.

Hello everyone,

Besides seeing W315 having "placed" under her name, another
wonderful thing happened today. We received my first letter from
my "sponsored daughter", i.e., sponsored orphan thru CHI's
sponsorship plan. Not only did we get a wonderful letter, we also
received updated pictures. To read the joy this child has just
because she has a sponsor is extremely touching. No, these children are not available for adoption, but there is still an emotional
connection. Apparently this little girl received a translated copy
of our letter and ran around all day with it at school. I was sent
new pictures of her smiling widely holding a piece of paper, which
we assume is the letter. We sent pictures of our children to her,
and now she considers them her American jie jie and her American mei mei. (brother and sister)

We are planning to return to China for a Homeland Tour, probably
shortly after I retire in 3 years. Jin Jin will be almost 6 then.
Starting next year, sponsors can go visit their sponsored children,
and we have already been invited by her teacher to do so. She is
practicing a song for us.

I posted this not only to encourage more families to sponsor, but to
bring a little cheer to those waiting still. It takes very little time
to type a letter to your sponsored child, and very little money each
month, and for those waiting and looking for something worthwhile to do, here is an option. It is also great for all of us BTDT too.

This is an exciting moment for those of us who have seen the pain and hopelessness of precious children all over the world. We feel the breath of God around us as we move toward expressing His love through our human efforts to the 'least ones', who are the most helpless and vulnerable of all creation.

Our goal is to help orphans and to work toward preventing orphan-hood for those children who are at the greatest risk for abandonment. Countless numbers of children around the globe must have the most basic needs met for survival. Child sponsorship / orphan sponsorship program helps ensure their survival and well-being.

Please pray that God's will be done and His blessings be upon all that are making this real.

It is truly a huge step for us and we invite every person who longs to make the world a better place for helpless and hurting children who now live without the light of Hope in their lives.
