We noticed the new
announcement page on your website and thought it was a great idea for
perspective adoptive families to see and read about the "wonderful world
of adoption". Brenda and I had an incredible adoption journey to
get our little Lia and we feel so fortunate that God has allowed us the
opportunity to experience international adoption.
After having two girls
biologically, we felt it was time to add to our family through adoption.
Always wanting to adopt someday, we began the procedure through Terry Hayter
and CHI in March of 1999. The adoption meetings we attended monthly
really helped us learn and grow in our excitement and anticipation of the day
when we got to travel to China and meet our forever new daughter, Lia.
She was adopted on February 28 and we returned home on March 9, 2000.
We would like to thank
everyone at Children's Hope for their patience and eagerness to answer all our
questions during this process. I know I called Terry and especially the
St. Louis office often to get questions answered and check on the status of
our case. I tend to be a person that doesn't take "no" for an
answer sometimes, especially if I have a passion for the end result!
Again, thank you all for a wonderful adoption experience and journey to China.
Lia has truly stolen our hearts and is such a beautiful addition to our
family.
Enclosed are some pictures of
"our girls" in silks we got in China. These were recently
taken and feel free to use them if you want. The girls are Lauren(12),
Lindsey(8) and Lia(3). See you all in St. Louis in August!
