Be aware that if you make your own flight arrangements with China Southern, you will need to book your own flights from your local airport to the Los Angeles Airport and the return. Because the tickets are issued separately, if the flight from your home airport is late and you miss your China Southern flight you will not be entitled to a hotel stay paid for by either one of the airlines. China Southern Airlines has a Guangzhou to Los Angeles flight departing 9:00 pm in the evening. (Your consulate appointment is typically done by late afternoon and you are free to leave with your child usually after 6:00pm that evening. This flight will get you on your way later that same day thus avoiding an additional hotel stay.)

Also, this is the airline that has the ?span style="color: red">Premium Economy? class seating similar to Business Class on a United States airline. The seating configuration is 2 seats next to the window on the left-hand side and then three seats together in the middle and then 2 seats next to the window on the right-hand side. The Seat is wide and reclines and has a multi-channel video screen and a satellite telephone. This class of service does not have the food service that is typical of a United States airline?s business class though.

Please be aware that China Southern at this time does not do electronic ticketing. You will receive a paper ticket from them. It has to be mailed so please make sure you allow enough time.

China Southern International Gateway Airport is: Los Angeles (LAX) to Guangzhou (Canton) (CAN)

The flight from Los Angeles departs at 11:59pm (almost midnight) and arrives in Guangzhou at 6:20am but the date will be TWO DAYS LATER. (IE, LEAVE 11:59PM JULY 22 AND ARRIVE 6:20AM JULY 24)
