Sample Itinerary & Cost

Day 1 - Depart US

Day 2 - Arrive in Beijing. Meet CHI coordinators at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 - Breakfast at the hotel. Visit CHI Beijing Office and have an orientation meeting. Lunch: Peking Duck at King Duck Restaurant. Visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidd en City in the afternoon. Return to the hotel. Dinner on your own. Evening: Peking Acrobatics Show.

Day 4 - Breakfast at the hotel. Climb the Great Wall at Badaling in the morning. Lunch at Yuan Xiang Ju Restaurant. Visit CHI Hope Center and spend time caring for the babies. Dinner on your own. Evening: Rest or swimming in the hotel.

Day 5 - Breakfast at the hotel. Morning ride in a rickshaw for hutong tour. Visit a local Beijing family to experience traditional Beijing life. Visit a special elementary school for deaf / mute children. Explore the Drum Tower. Lunch at Kao Rou Ji (barbeque) Restaurant. Learn Chinese traditional paper cutting in the afternoon. Dinner on your own and packing. Evening: Overnight Train to Xian (soft-sleeper).

Day 6 - Arrive in Xian and transfer to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit old city wall. Lunch: Local Noodles. Visit the Muslim Market in the afternoon. Return to the hotel for rest. Evening: Dumplings (you will have a chance to make dumplings by yourself) and see Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7 - Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Lunch at Friendship Restaurant in the museum. Return to the hotel. Fly to Chengdu in the evening.Arrive in Chengdu and transfer to the hotel. Dinner: Sichuan hot pot.

Day 8 - Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the Panda Research Center and Museum. Visit the giant pandas at the Research and Breeding Center, view a film about the giant panda, and hug a real panda! Return to Chengdu. Traditional Chinese Medicinal Dinner for late lunch. Explore the city in the afternoon (you will see local tea houses and people playing Mah Jhong there). Evening: Sichuan Variety Show including Changing Masks. Local Dim Sum and Tea for dinner.

Day 9 - Breakfast at the hotel. Fly to your child's provincial capital. Transfer to a hotel (You may stay at the hotel which you used during your adoption journey). Sightseeing in the capital.

Day 10 - Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the orphanage by van or train. Visit your child's orphanage. Meet the director and staff of the orphanage. Reunion with other children in the orphanage. Stay at a hotel this night.

Day 11 - Breakfast at the hotel. See your child's finding site or visit the foster family in the morning. Lunch on your own. Visit a village. Return to the capital. Dinner at a local restaurant. Evening: free time.

Day 12 - Fly to Guangzh ou in the morning and transfer to the White Swan Hotel. Swim at the hotel and hang out on Shamian Island. Take a cruise on the Pearl River in the evening, dinner included.

Day 13 - Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to Hong Kong, check in to the hotel. Shopping time in the afternoon. Lunch and Dinner on your own. Evening: Take peak tram to Victoria Peak to see the night view of Hong Kong.

Day 14 - Breakfast at the hotel. Airport transfer for flight back to the US .

Optional Itinerary - Guilin Tour

Day 1: Provincial Capital City - Guilin

Depart from your adopted children's Provincial Capital City to Guilin by plane. Your English-speaking tour guide and driver will transfer you to the hotel upon your arrival. In Guilin , your children will be so amazed by the world's most gorgeous natural scenery there. You will see the Elephant Trunk Hill, the city's symbol, it's a mountain looks like an elephant putting his nose into the Li River to quench his thirst.

Day 2: Guilin - Yangshuo

After breakfast, embark on an air-conditioned, scenic cruise along the Li River and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch onboard. The landscape of Guilin is proudly claimed by the Chinese people as the most beautiful in the world while the scenery along the Li River is the one in hundred. You can see with sparkling clear waters and magnificent green hills with different kind of shape. Local children are taking lazy afternoon swimming; water buffalos are grazing on the river banks; ducks are chasing each other for food.

Arrive in Yangshuo in the afternoon and start your shopping on the West Street , where there are a lot of fantastic souvenirs like the root sculpture, embroidery love ball, a huge folding fan with Chinese paintings on it. Then return Guilin by bus.

Day 3: Guilin-Guangzhou

After breakfast, take a flight to Guangzhou.
