Children's Hope in Addis Ababa and the House of Hope where
the children live until they are adopted. In this
building there are also guest rooms where adoptive families may
stay while in Ethiopia.

Accommodations
at CHI House of Hope Guest House / Hotels
Families now
have two options for accommodations during their adoption
trip in Addis Ababa: a hotel room or a guest room in the CHI
House of Hope. CHI/STL will set up everything for the House
of Hope. You will make your own arrangements if you choose
to stay in one of the local hotels. When you fill in your
travel form, please indicate where you want to stay.
CHI House of
Hope:
Guest rooms (suites) are located in a section of the House
of Hope. There is a living room and bath joining a bedroom
with two beds and space for a child's bed to be added. One
suite does not have an in-suite bathroom. We believe you
will find these guest rooms very comfortable and cheerful. The
rate is $85/per day per room with meals and no additional
taxes on top of this cost. Three meals per day,
snacks and bottled water are all included in the daily fee
for those staying here. Payment is made to Children's
Hope in advance for a 5 days stay. If a longer stay is
required, payment can be made in Ethiopia on a daily basis.
Infants and children are also housed in the House of Hope
and families who stay here will be able to interact with
them during many of their daily activities. You need to be
aware that Ethiopia is a third world country and water may
not be on all hours of the day and night. However every
provision is being made to ensure a comfortable stay at the
House of Hope. Muslim mosques and Orthodox Churches give a
call to prayer at 5:00 am every morning and 4 others times
during the day. You will not need an alarm clock. The
guest house is not a hotel but
read what some of the
families have said, then make up your mind.
Hotels:
If you choose to stay at a hotel, please make your
reservations and advise CHI/STL of your plans. Families
typically stay at the Ghion Hotel, the Hilton Hotel or the
Sheraton Hotel. Hotels range from $101 - $250 plus 25%
taxes per day - with food costs for a couple at about $100
per day.
