Parent Qualifications for Adopting in Ethiopia

• Heterosexual couples (with or without children)
  may apply.

• Must be 25-50 yrs old or up to 55 on a case by case basis for 7 yrs and older.

• Couples must be married 2 years.

• No more than 2 divorces permitted.

• Preference is that there be no more than a 40 year (flexible) gap between the age of the youngest adopting parent and the child being adopted.

• Ethiopia requires that at the time of referral there be a minimum 3 year age gap between the youngest child currently in the home and the child being adopted. (This is for infant and younger children up to 4 yrs old)

• We are not accepting singles at this time.
