RUSSIA PROGRAM UPDATES

Spring Showers Bring a Flood of Travel for Happy Russia Families

In March alone, 25 Children?s Hope International families made travel arrangements and boarded planes to one of a plethora of Russia regions. Some families traveled for the first time to be matched with their child; other families are experiencing their joyous second trip in which the family finalizes their Russian adoption and bring them home to their forever family in the US. We are very excited for our families and for the Russia program!

New Regions, New Document Preparation Site
As so many families are traveling soon, an internal web site has been developed to aid Children?s Hope families in the completion of their documents for Russian court. With so many documents, things can become overwhelming, but these step-by-step guides and checklists streamline the process.

Children?s Hope has begun working with new regions within Russia this year - Moscow City, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Please remember that Moscow City is a different administrative unit, separate from the Moscow Region.

Completed Russia Adoptions 2008 ? 25

?It?s hard to believe we?re going on one year since we first met our sweet Abigail for the first time!? says second time mom Shari Keen. Shari and her husband Michael of Iowa adopted their daughter Abigail from Astrakhan, Russia in June 2007.

?It?s hard to put into words just how amazingly well she has adjusted and adapted to her new family and new environment. She just turned 2 in January and so far she is on track developmentally and is talking up a storm! Her favorite words are ?Big Hug? and ?Snack? which sums up her personality perfectly!

To say she has a love of life would be an understatement! Abby and her big brother Noah (also adopted from Astrakhan, Russia) have been the biggest blessings we could have ever imagined. They inspire, humble and delight us every single day.?
