CHINA PROGRAM UPDATES

Referrals:
Children's Hope is proud to announce that we received eighteen
China referrals last week! The referrals from the Hubei and
Jiangxi provinces are all little girls ranging in age from
7-to-12-months- old. We expect the families to travel in about
eight weeks to complete their China adoption process.
For these
families, the wait from log in date to referral was 16 to 17
months. Congratulations to these happy families and everyone who
moves up in line for referrals!
China Travel:
Families from our January referral group and six waiting
children families arrived home last week. At the end of
February, three more waiting children families began their
travels to finalize their Chinese adoptions. Congratulations!
The Guangzhou
spring trade fair 2007 will be from April 14th to 30th. China’s
Labor Day Holiday is from May 1 through May 7. Our Beijing
office expects to work on April 28, 29 and 30. Families
traveling during these times will have their travel scheduled
around these events.
China's Waiting
Children:
The new group of
China’s waiting children was made available on Friday, March 2
in the afternoon. Children’s Hope families had the weekend to
view the waiting children and research their special needs. The
request form was made available on Monday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m.
CST until Thursday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. CST. The China team
processed all the forms, selected one form for each waiting
child and began calling the selected families on Thursday, March
8 in the afternoon. The request form is again available on CHI
Family Net. The China team is thrilled that all but two waiting
children are either being reviewed or have been placed!
On Thursday,
February 22, the China team posted four special children on
CHIFamily.net. These four children are not officially a part of
the CCAA Waiting Children's Program, but are in a blind foster
care center near Beijing, as they are legally blind. Tina Qualls
visited the foster care center and met both children and staff
while she was in China last summer. The staff asked if
Children’s Hope could find homes for these children.
