RUSSIA PROGRAM UPDATES

With Paperwork Complete, Families Become One

Children’s Hope had 13 court dates scheduled for the month of July and nine first trips for families in the Russia Program. At this time we already have 7 families scheduled for August for their own second trips for court, to officially adopt their child(ren). Congratulations to all of these families!

Ten families have completed their adoptions in the month of July and 8 families in June. We are pleased with the pace at which adoptions are continuing into the summer, traditionally a time when things are a little slower in Russia due to officials taking vacations.

2008 Completed Russia Adoptions: 64

Meet the Russia Program Team!

Children’s Hope has had the great pleasure of working with Karen Carnesciali for the last 4 years. As she moves into the next phase of her career, we would like to introduce you to and welcome Andrei Skurtu as our new Russia Program Director.

Andrei joins the Russia team after working as International Programs Director for our Humanitarian Aid program. Born in Moldova, formerly of the Soviet Union, Andrei is fluent in Russian and understands and appreciates Russian culture. His excellent operational management and problem solving skills will be an asset to the Russia Program. Andrei’s educational background includes a BA in International Relations and History from Washington University in St. Louis, where he is continuing his Master in International Affairs. Welcome, Andrei!

Making star cookies in the Ramsel household became a tradition in its second year this Fourth of July. “Delaney thinks it's "Star Cookie" Holiday!” says mom Cyndi. The two will celebrate two years together this August after Cyndi adopted Delaney from Russia through Children’s Hope.
