COLOMBIA PROGRAM UPDATES

Five Couples Recently Home as Families!

Families who recently arrived home:

17-month-old baby girl from Cundinamarca

10-year-old girl from Neiva

Baby boy for a Colombian family from Cúcuta

20-month-old baby girl from Montería

5-year-old girl from Medellin

Families are currently in Colombia to adopt:

Sisters ages 3, 3 and 2 (obviously, a set of twins and a younger sister!) from Bogotá

Assignments & Traveling Soon:

5-year-old girl from Bogota with special needs

2-year-old girl from Medellin for a Colombian family

Three brothers, ages 4, 3 and 2 from Bogota

Brother, 9, and sister, 5, from Bogota

We now have ten families with dossiers in regional offices, awaiting assignment! In addition, we have another 8 families with dossiers being reviewed in Colombia that have asked for older children, sibling groups, or who were born in Colombia that should be sent out soon to regional offices. Things continue to progress in the Colombia program. Although the wait for a baby is long, we have several "baby" families at regional offices that should be assigned soon and we look forward to sharing that news with all of you.

Greetings from the St. Louis office!

Nichole: I am happy to announce the addition of Ashley Bennett to the Colombia team as an adoption consultant. She is working with the program part-time in the St. Louis office.

Ashley: I attended Saint Louis University and received a Master of Social Work, graduating in 2008. As part of my program, I interned at three adoption agencies in the Saint Louis area, including Children’s Hope International. As an intern I was able to see firsthand the commitment and care Children’s Hope International has for orphans all over the world. I feel very blessed to be a part of Children’s Hope and am excited about working in the Colombia Program. I look forward to helping families through the process!

The Duewel girls, Erika (3) and Luisa (2), had tons of fun celebrating their adoption at the 2008 Children’s Hope Annual Reunion Picnic in St. Louis. Parents Nathan and Rene adopted the two sisters and their two brothers (Alejandro and Sebastian) from Colombia in November 2007.
