CHINA PROGRAM UPDATES

China Referrals Extend a July Weekend of Celebration!

Children's Hope received three China referrals on July 7 for Chinese expedited families. There were two beautiful little girls and one handsome little boy. The children are from the Jiangsu Province and are 11 months, 14 months, and 20 months old. These expedited families waited 18 months for their referrals.

In the first two weeks of July, Children’s Hope families seeking to adopt children with special needs from China received official referrals for 13 children. Congratulations to these families!

Wait Time from Log in Date to Referral: The current wait time from log in date until referral is 30 months and 18 months for Chinese expedited.

The Olympics are set to begin in Beijing on 8/8/08. Children’s Hope will continue to have families travel to China during the Olympics. These families will be traveling to Guangzhou to complete their adoptions. Normal travel resumes August 28.

2008 Completed China Adoptions: As of June 30th Children’s Hope has completed 82 adoptions from China: 30 healthy referrals and 52 waiting children.

If you are a Children’s Hope China family, the best way to keep up-to-date with your program is to read the Program Updates and the monthly program newsletter. Please read these updates in their entirety as this is your best source of information on requirements and procedures for the China program. If you are not receiving these updates please contact your adoption consultant. Thank you!

In her first Fourth of July celebration in the United States, Jessica became familiar with sparklers and the pride for the American flag. This amazing little girl will have an additional surgery on her cleft lip this month. Keep her in your prayers! Kathleen and Bob Carscadden adopted Jessica from China in October 2007.

Taylor Jordan, adopted in January 2006 from the MaoNan SWI, spent the Fourth at a Florida Fourth of July Party with fireworks, face-painting, balloon hats, and a juggling Uncle Sam. “A good time was had by all!” says mom Carol.

Mia (4) and Matthew (6) Jones knew how to dress for the Fourth of July! Now proud Americans, Mia and Matthew were adopted, respectively from China and Guatemala, by parents Jeff and Katherine in 2004.
