Believe it or not, Mari and I are approaching the 6-month mark of being together. It seems so crazy that we have been a family that long but I also can’t remember what it was like before Mari became part of my life. She is absolutely adorable and LOVES to have her picture taken. She is a chatterbox and some days I wonder if she remembers to breathe in between babbles. Every animal is a “kit-cat” and the real kitty-cats are “Kit-cats” that say “e-ow”. The dog is a “kit-cat” that says “uf-uf”. Everyone is “da-da” except me, and I am “mama”. Mari is just taking her first steps and thinking she is hot stuff - she usually falls down after 2-3 steps because she is so busy cheering for herself... it is a hoot!

I will be starting a new job in a little over a week that will allow me to have a normal schedule and give Mari and I the structure we were missing in our lives. This will benefit our relationship so much more and we will have EVERY weekend together, EVERY bedtime together, EVERY holiday together, etc, etc, etc.

I feel like I am starting a new chapter to a book that was started only 6 months ago... Let’s hope we have lots of happy chapters with great adventures, full of fun. And, who knows, maybe in a few years we will add more characters to the story!! (Wouldn’t that be cool!)

To everyone at Children’s Hope – thank you for doing so much to make my life complete. I look at Mari everyday and wonder what I did to deserve such a beautiful soul in my life. Why was this little girl chosen to come into my life? Miracles really do come true and I thank you for making my dreams into reality. It is really sinking in – the true incredibility of my life and I want to express the deep gratitude I have for everything you did for my family.

Thank you very much!
