VIETNAM PROGRAM UPDATES

In the first week of April,
Children's Hope International's Vietnam Program received the
good news of referrals! On April 4, two referrals, both for
boys, were presented to Children's Hope families. Both boys are
from Ho Chi Minh City; the first is 7 months old and is from Tam
Binh 1 orphanage, the second is 11 months old and is from the
GoVap orphanage. Congratulations to the families!
In the last week of March, seven
traveling families returned home to the US with their new sons
and daughters. These families had great trips but many were
anxious to come home and begin bonding as a family in their home
states.
our families also received travel
notices in early April to finalize their Vietnamese adoptions
and will leave for Vietnam Monday, April 14. All the best to
these families!
Dr. Long, the director of the
Department of Inter-Country Adoptions in Hanoi (DIA), visited
our Ho Chi Minh City office last week, during an annual agency
tour. He was optimistic about dossiers being received in Vietnam
during the summer months. The Vietnam Program has been extremely
busy reviewing dossiers to send to Vietnam. In one week in
April, the Program received over 20 dossiers!

"Lucas fell asleep while
playing - isn't he sweet?" asks mom Mindee Miller.
Mindee adopted Lucas from Vietnam in August 2006 and
just has submitted her dossier for "baby #2". Lucas
turns 2 years old this week. Happy birthday, Lucas!
