VIETNAM PROGRAM UPDATES

The wait time to adopt a boy from Vietnam is continuing to increase slowly, as applications continue to rise. New applicants should expect to wait 18-24 months for their referral. For those currently in the process for their adoption, families are being matched for infant boys within 13 months; this wait will gradually increase. The wait for a girl continues to be 2+ years. Please remember these wait times are predictions and current patterns may change at any time.

Children’s Hope currently has three families in Vietnam, just as three families arrived home in the second week of September. Congratulations to these newly united families! Seven families received news of their travel dates this week and are set to travel to finalize their Vietnam adoptions on September 21.

We are also pleased to announce the placement of the 12-year-old girl that was available on the CHIFamily.net waiting child page. Congratulations to the family! There are still 2 sibling boys available on the web site, 14-and 8-years-old! If you are interested in learning more about them please contact Vietnam program director, Nicky Losse.

Three years of praying for a brother finally paid off! Averiana smiles proudly as she admires her new brother, who she met just days prior. When people ask her how she likes having a brother she innocently replies, "He is so cute when he is sleeping.”

“We flew from Vietnam to Hong Kong to Los Angelos to Detroit to finally meet his beautiful sister and extended family. Then, we drove from Michigan to Indiana to meet more family and then onward home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Twenty hours of flying, a week of visiting with family, and then another twenty hours of driving can wear a kid out!” says mom Krista Lain.

“Eli is fitting into our family so very well. It is so evident that God chose him to be with us. It seems strange to think that our family ever existed without him just two months ago. All the patience and waiting and "labor pains" have all been worthy of glory beyond our wildest dreams. We would go through it a thousand times over just for a taste of all that we have experienced with our son. Wow, has God amazed us all with the awesome gift of adoption!”
