Adoptive families have so much to be
thankful for each Thanksgiving_your children are an amazing gift
and the holidays are special for each forever family. As the
turkey is cleaned off plates and thanksgivings voiced, families
begin preparing for the Christmas season. On your Christmas tree
this year, celebrate your adopted child's background with a
Children's Hope ornament. Together you can design and decorate
for an ornament that is both pleasing to the eye and also to
your heart as you remember how your family was brought together.

Make an ornament with an artistic flair: Matisse
style.
(for ages
3 and up with appropriate scissors)
|
Henri Matisse
was a French artist who expressed himself with bold colors.
As he aged and could no longer paint, he began creating
paper collages. With scissors, he cut paper shapes? a circle,
triangles, squiggles and blobs? and arranged them into
dynamic designs. |
3.
Help your child cut out shapes from the colored
paper. If cutting on their own, you may encourage varying
sizes, shapes and colors.
4.
When your child has cut out a collection of
shapes, help to arrange a design on the ornament.
5.
Glue or paste the pieces in place.
6.
Did you cover the Children's Hope logo?
Click here to print and then
paste it over the creation.
7.
Tape a photo of your child behind the cut-out space, if you
chose this ornament option.
8.
Tie a ribbon loop for hanging.
9.
Enjoy!
