From a Mother to
Her
Child, Waiting Across the Sea
|

 |
There’s a child who is
sleeping,
Under the stars tonight.
A warm breeze blowing,
Kisses her sweet face goodnight.
Across the seas and
under the stars,
Comes early morning’s light.
A mother blows her baby a kiss,
Wishing her goodnight.
Under the stars the
cicadas sing,
To lull sweet baby to sleep.
The bullfrogs croak in harmony,
to lend a helping hand.
In early morning’s
light,
A mother sings a tune…
…as if her baby girl
Were there with her,
In that very room.
She sings from her
heart,
Because you see,
Her heart is so very full
Of this child across the seas.
Across the seas, in
dawns early light,
Sweet baby wakes to find,
Warm arms of love to help her start
A journey of a lifetime.
Most will never know, baby’s early days,
But the cicadas and the bullfrogs,
That kept bad dreams away.
Across the seas, the
stars twinkle bright.
A Mother’s prayer pierces the night.
“Keep her safe,
Keep her warm,
Calm her heart and mind.
Help her know,
Her mother is here…
She will NEVER again be alone.”
