RUSSIA PROGRAM UPDATES

Missouri, Illinois, New Hampshire, Arizona, Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Maine, Arkansas, Alabama, Virginia, California, New York and the District of Columbia.

Through Children's Hope in 2008, there are 46 Russian children who now have new loving homes with 34 families across the United States. There are already another eight families who are scheduled for court dates this month as well.

The children who have come home so far range in age from 13-months-old to 10-years-old. We are happy for all of our families who are beginning their new lives with their adopted children, and we stand ready to assist in any way possible our families who are patiently waiting for -the call- for their first or second trip.

As we continue to have families invited to travel to Russia, we are seeing that there is less and less time between the day we find out and notify families that they are invited to travel, and the day they need to be in Russia. In some cases it is only one week! A more typical timeline is ten days. This, of course, makes it a challenge (as well as an expense) to obtain visas and a flight itinerary. With the summer travel season here, airfare to and from Russia is going up. This is affected also by airline price increases and fuel surcharges.

Great dads take their kids to new heights. Jim Fleming does it figuratively and literally for son Owen, adopted from Russia. Home now for one year in Tennessee, 2 year-old Owen is forming a bond that can never be broken - the one between father and son.

Happy Father's Day, Jim!
