Blog readers have been following Leda Perry’s adoption story, which
she dedicated to her deployed Naval husband Todd, for months. Shocked to receive nearly 30 personal emails, 40 blog
comments, and word spreading like wildfire online, Leda is
amazed at the blog and Children’s Hope Yahoo Group community
support for adoptive families.
After traveling to
China to finalize her daughter’s adoption in March and uniting
with her second son at home, little Kaylee finally got her
Second Gotcha Day with the BaBa she had long been waiting for on May
31.
“That big
(wrinkled-up) laminated picture of Todd on Kaylee’s welcome home
sign is the photo she carried around and slept with for three
months before meeting him. She would talk to it, kiss it,
snuggle it... We'd hear her on the monitor in the crib saying,
"Hi BaBa" to the picture of the father she had not yet met.”

Home At Last - Gotcha Day 2
 |
The San
Diego Union Tribune article that ran June 1, 2007 and
interviewed Leda and her husband, home again after a
long deployment at sea.

|

Here's the
kids when we
first arrived at the pier!
Aren't
they cute?! |

Notice
Kaylee's ribbon is falling out...fortunately I had a
pair of spare red white & blue barrettes that stayed in
better that I switched to...
|
I thought
it was funny that her sign said
"Who's my
BaBa?"
instead
of
"Where's
my BaBa?" : )
