VIETNAM PROGRAM UPDATES

Chuc Mung Nam Moi ? Happy New
Year!
We are delighted to announce that in
2008 thus far, several Children?s Hope families have received
referrals. One family was matched with 3 ?-month-old twin girls
from Phu My orphanage in Ho Cho Minh City. The family is
thrilled and couldn?t be happier! We are also happy to announce
two brothers, 2 ? and 4 ? years old, were matched with their
parents and a 3 ?-month-old little girl from Tam Binh 2
orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City with her family. Congratulations
to you all! The next family to receive an infant girl has waited
19 months; for an infant boy, 17 months. We do expect these wait
times to continue to increase in 2008.
Vietnam Travel
There are still three families in Vietnam currently and they
should complete their adoptions this week and return home by
this weekend. We don?t have any other travel dates for those
families waiting to travel. This is our first group to travel in
the New Year. We hope to have more families travel before the
Tet holiday! Two families celebrated their Christmas in Vietnam
while completing their adoptions, while several traveling
families were able to celebrate the holiday home with their
newly adopted children.
We are delighted to share that we
placed the new waiting child that was posted on CHIfamily net on
January 14! We had a lot of interest in him but the family
accepted on January 16. Congratulations to this child?s new
family!
The Vietnamese New Year, Tet, is
February 7. This is the largest holiday in Vietnam. Most
government offices will close for approximately two weeks.
Families will not travel nor will we receive referrals the week
before or the week during the holiday.
A quarterly scheduled meeting will
be held at the US Embassy on January 24, 2008, in Vietnam, for
all licensed adoption agencies. Our representative in Vietnam,
Thuy, will be in attendance.
Children?s Hope united 85 children
with their families in 2007! Children?s Hope Vietnam program
continues to grow. We look forward to all that 2008 will bring.

Big brother Caleb and younger
brother Matthew receive a big squeeze from Dad, Hoan. ?Matthew
has blossomed and grown so much in personality. The mellow laid
back kid is finally learning how to defend his own turf. Having
a three year old brother and a two year old cousin has made him
a tough little cookie,? says mom Dana Dang. This growing family
will be expecting a baby sister this year. Congratulations to
this great family! Hoan and Dana adopted Matthew from Vietnam in
May 2007.
